It's not that far away...let's get our plans in order.

So far, coming from Butler, we have Kerbear, Red, Purple Nurple, and me. So, here's what I think our options are based on four people and the gear (tents, coolers, etc.) of four people.

Pile into the purple mobile - It was very tight with five people for the MWGB, shouldn't be as bad with four. This is the ideal situation because it's one vehicle and it's four door so we can hop in and out quickly for caches. I remember we did several 4x4 caches up in that area last year so that's a perk too.

Take two vehicles - If the purple mobile isn't available for whatever reason, we're probably going to need to take two vehicles. Red says he can drive, but he has a 2-door cavalier which isn't going to hold four people and a weekend's camping supplies. Assuming my car checks out OK, I could drive up and it's four door so it would make an easier caching vehicle once we get up there. However, we still have the space issues. We took my car to the labor day campout last year and it was packed to the gills just with camping gear for two people and clothes for the kids. So, regardless of which car ends up going we need a gear vehicle too...which leads me to Kerry's pickup. Assuming we don't have torrential downpours (memories of our weekend trip to Canada two years ago) we could pile all of the gear into the back of the pickup and once we get up there, we can park it and use one caching vehicle.

So, what do you guys think? Can you think of any other options?

when we get there kim will be there and possible marti. so that's 2 more people but kim has a vehicle that can hold 4-5 of us.

zoie will be with us as well. unless the weather is saying it's going to be cold and wet then I'll ask my mom to watch her.

That's a good point. Kim's vehicle is great for caching.

Bergie BUnch is heading up. We have room for 3 or 4 if needed in the van. If we take out the bench seatr for gear, we will only have room for 2. Yekk if anything or one needs a ride. We will be leaving from Cranberry round lunch time.

Are you interested in caching thursday night? We could meet you somewhere after the meeting to transfer gear and abandon our vehicle for a carpool.

Edit: Scratch that question. I'm going to plan an expressway route with caching along the way unless someone objects. It looks like Kathy has already done most of the caches up Rt. 62 so she would be revisiting caches all night. I'm thinking a bit of caching in Erie and then we can knockout some new york counties on the way over.

Have to double check with the "Queen of semi-circular course corrections" but we were hoping to make it. With Eric's event being canceled this weekend that removes a bit of contention for vacation days... Let me get to work on trying to figure out a plan for us...

no event this weekend from eric?? well, that frees up this weekend. but staying on topic for asp-whichever route. sounds good to me. I'll have zoie with me-so whomever I'm carpooling with-need to know if they're okay with a dog.
