our first event for the year: april 4-2 year bacon brunch. will be posted on gc.com soon. will be held at slippery rock park. nearby attactions-Bob's Subs, Wolf Creek, Slippery Rock Creek, SRU, Outlet Mall, etc. time 10-2pm. will be pot luck brunch style. should be some history of the area temp caches placed and maybe a bacon game or two.

other events in the works: Alameda CITO prob. in early june, Regatta CITO which will be Sun Aug 2 from 6-8pm. Cranberry Twp dog park event, Spaghetti at Marinaro Park, McConnell's Meet and Greet prob. in Aug or Sept, Moraine Disc Golf Event either Aug or Sept, Butler Memorial Park CITO as suggested by silverhorse, Butler/Freeport trail hiking event, QS&L event in Sharon for December-snow/ice storm optional.

any other suggestions are welcome! I try to keep a variety of events and haven't used the same theme twice.

Bummer, I was hoping the April Bacon gathering was going to be later in the afternoon. I don't get done at work until 2pm.

Any thoughts on doing an event running concurrent to the relay for Life?

I need to talk to you kerry at some point here soon. We're going to try to have a meat & greet at our house sometime this spring, and I'd rather work around what you guys have planned....

Ok...give me shout some evening when you have the spring stuff sorted out or at least a general idea, so we can work together on this...

An event like that won't get published...Per the guidelines, you cannot create an event just to go get a specific cache...

you can word it differently and place an event right at the starting point or near it without a problem... perhaps call the event "ridge trail hike and social"? just as long as you do something social prior to doing the hike so those who don't want to do the hike can still participate. allenfreed, from down near pittsburgh, has a really hard micro cache and tried publishing an event to help people find it but it was turned down, so he excluded the mention of the cache from the page but keep the title the same and we also had food and socialized... the cache was "to heck with this" and the event was "a heck of a time." the event turned out well, we found his evil hide and were able to proceed onward to finding other caches after some food.

anyway-back to event ideas. nate-what date were ya thinking. may is booked every weekend so I wasn't planning anything for may.

zoie has her event all ready to go. her's might be at alameda and combine with the annual cito maybe in late june? ducks and dogs event?? how's june 28th look for everyone?

july-maybe disc golf at moraine. july 18? this date is open as far as no leagues. or can do the spaghetti event at father marinaro park. which would y'all prefer?

aug 2 possible regatta cito event. I'm hoping a few of y'all will be at the regatta to take people caching!

that'll get us through the summer. then can start working on fall events.

No takers on the Relay for Life idea then huh?
It's June 27-28.

July 18th, magic_cacher and I will be in Tampa.

We'll be at the Regatta though. Kev's got a magic show and I've got a taekwondo demo.
