Multi-cache Just a Walk in the Park...Or is it?

Postby yavanna_21 on Thu May 28, 2009 4:24 pm

Is there going to be a BACON run to DougLisa's "Just a Walk in the Park...Or is it?" GC1PWMV?

Now that school is ending, I'll be able to go out A LOT more and I need to check here more often for info...

there is no way I'll attempt this one myself, so if anyone's planning a trip, let me know and I can get my first 5/5!!!

Was going to try it today but didn't have time. I am not to worried about the 5/5. It may be listed higher than it really is. We will see.

Can anyone go next Thursday or Friday evening (June 4th or 5th) or Sunday the 7th?

Sounds like fun. I don't think I've ever gotten a 5/5. But planning in any definitive way for the latter part of next week is a bit difficult for me at this point. But I will watch and see when you all choose, and... if Megan hasn't been giving birth just then, and if our second car is repaired (likely), and if it's at a time that I'm free (which I think is true of all the suggested dates except the morning of 6/7), I may try to join you all.

I asked Megan what she thought about me going caching that far from home next week, and her first reaction was "if there's cell phone service there". Does anyone know the answer to that? I'm guessing that we don't know, but maybe we can get cell #'s for everyone who goes to increase the likelihood of me staying reachable. The other thing she said is that it would just depend on how she's feeling on that day. Basically, she's ok with me possibly going... but I might have to cancel at the last minute, depending on what's going on with us and how she's feeling.

So... maybe... and I'll watch for the plans.

I'm pretty sure there's service in Crooked Creek, but I can't promise it.

Let's narrow it down to Sunday and see what time we can hammer down? Ian, we can go later so I can get to church too.

Thanks :). I think we actually may be going to church on Saturday in Pgh, but somewhat later is still good for me, because it means I won't have to get up too early to make the drive up there.

However... Megan has said numerous times in the past day that she thinks she's going to go into labour on Sunday June 7 so... who knows if I'll be available. We'll see.

Ok... what I said in my last post may not be entirely accurate... we might be going to church next Sunday morning after all. But I'll just continue to watch for what you all are doing, and we can figure out details of timing as it gets closer.

After talking with Ray & Kerry at the Buffalo Community days today, I think that Sunday afternoon is a go.

So let's figure out the time? Is 12:00 good for everyone, or maybe 1:00?

I think 12 would be doable for me. 12:15 or 12:30 might be a little nicer for flexibility. I shouldn't need for it to be as late as 1 though.

I'm not sure if I'll go though. Even Megan is feeling ok about it that morning, I'm just not entirely sure about going that far - I'd feel too bad if she did go into labour and couldn't reach me. I sort of feel like... if we went, and if it ended up that we had cell service, then it would be ok... or if we were able to check back to areas with service periodically... but that might just be a pain to have to do and worry about. And the Good Friday caching adventure ended up being frustrating for Megan because of a lack of cell service that I didn't realize, so I don't really want to have that happen again. But part of me really wants to go, and especially since I'm not sure how much I'll get out later in the summer. Anyway, I could probably ramble on for a while, but all that to say that I'm really undecided. Eh. We'll see what the week brings for Megan and I, and I'll try to make up my mind tentatively by the weekend. But I'd say not to worry too much about me for making plans and setting times. If it works out that I can go, great... but I'm just not sure.

Ian, totally understandable! The thread can keep you informed and you can decide, and maybe someone else can let you know if you can get cell service there or not. I totally get that you don't want to go out very far; a guy at work's wife just had her baby three weeks early on Friday.
